Atlas Collectible Firearms is profoundly honored to present what is arguably one of the finest examples of functional art in existence: an expertly Master Engraved 1957 Smith & Wesson Pre-Model 29 chambered in the legendary .44 Magnum. This museum-tier specimen features a unique custom 4.25-inch barrel and represents the pinnacle of the N-frame revolver’s early production. The firearm serves as a breathtaking canvas for full-coverage, very early expert-level Master Hand Engraving in the Germanic style, characterized by deep, flowing scrolls that cover the frame, barrel, and cylinder.

The level of embellishment on this S&W is truly extraordinary, featuring at least 40+ feet of genuine solid Sterling Silver rope-style inlay meticulously woven throughout the design. While no signature was located, the artistry is so refined it closely resembles the work of world-famous masters such as Claus Willig, Kurt Jaeger, or E.C. Prudhomme. Another famous engraver that this work very closely resembles is the work of European-trained Japanese master engraver Shiro Ogawa. Further identifying its bespoke heritage, the bottom of the trigger guard is precisely hand-inlaid with the sterling silver initials "E.B.P.". This masterpiece is perfectly finished with a set of early hand-carved genuine Elephant Ivory target-style grips featuring exquisite floral relief carving.

This one-of-a-kind work of art arrives beautifully housed in a Custom Deluxe Wood Glass-Top Presentation Case with a vibrant red velvet-lined interior. The overall condition is pristine collector grade, showing only the most minimal signs of handling and remains as an absolute crown jewel for the most advanced firearms collection. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a uniquely, master-level engraved Smith & Wesson that represents the highest level of craftsmanship ever applied to the Model 29 platform.
