Atlas Collectible Firearms is proud to present this extraordinary First Year Production 1957 Colt Buntline Special Single Action Army (SAA) revolver, chambered in the classic .45 Colt. This is a highly desirable Second Generation model, manufactured in the first year of Buntline production for that series. The rarity and beautiful custom engraving make this a premier investment-grade collector's piece.

This iconic revolver features the massive 12-inch barrel and a combination finish of deep bluing and original case hardening (CCH) on the frame. The revolver is fitted with factory hard rubber grips with the rampant Colt logo. It includes a handsome hardwood takedown case with "COLT" carved on the lid.

The pistol features Masterfully executed floral scroll hand engraving on the barrel, cylinder, and back strap. The finish and engraving all look to be factory Colt done with the engraving appearing very closely to the work of Bill Mains or George Spring's factory style engraving but we do not have a letter on the firearm to be 100% sure. George Spring didn't work for Colt until years later so the gun may have been sent back to the Colt factory for engraving years later.

The overall condition is Excellent, with the gun retaining nearly all of it's casehardened and blued finishes, showing minor handling evidence. The grip checkering is sharp. The mechanics are excellent, indexing and locking up smoothly. A rare opportunity to acquire a legendary Buntline, representing the first year of the coveted Second Generation production.
