Atlas Collectible Firearms is profoundly honored to present this ultra rare 1st year of production 1962 Remington Model 700 Safari Grade. Chambered in the massive .458 Winchester Magnum with a 26-inch barrel, this rifle was manufactured on a one-at-a-time basis in the Remington Custom Shop. This historically significant specimen represents the very first year of the legendary Model 700 series.
The rifle features a high-polish blue finish on the barrel and receiver with a non-reflective matte finish on top of the action. It is fitted with a beautiful checkered walnut Monte Carlo stock featuring a black ebony forend tip and pistol grip cap. The barrel is equipped with factory sporting sights and the correct integral muzzle brake, a design carryover from the rare Model 725 Kodiak series.
Accompanying this museum-grade rifle is a formal Remington Historian letter and a 1962 price sheet, alongside a period-correct brown leather sling. The firearm remains in extremely fine condition, showing only light superficial scratches and honest age-related thinning. The bore is brilliantly bright with sharp rifling. This lettered first-year Custom Shop 700 is a cornerstone investment for the serious collector.
