Atlas Collectible Firearms is proud to present this Holy Grail 1st Generation Colt Python revolver, serial number #255, chambered in .357 Magnum. As a genuine First Year, 1955 production firearm with a three-digit serial number, this Python is already among the rarest of all "snake guns." Its status is elevated to legendary by the extremely rare custom work performed by master pistolsmith Bob Chow.
This Python features the classic 6-inch barrel and retains the spectacular original Colt Royal Blue finish. It is fitted with the correct full checkered walnut target grips. The unparalleled significance lies in the custom action work, which is stamped "CHOW" on the inside of the frame, along with a "61" marking (likely indicating the year the action was performed). Bob Chow is world-famous for his 1911 work, but his Python customizations are almost unheard of, making this one of the rarest custom Colts in existence. The double-action is truly incredible and buttery smooth with a very light, precise trigger.
The condition is very good for a 1st Year Python, especially considering most were heavily used. The Royal Blue finish remains strong, showing some honest handling marks and wear commensurate with its age. While lacking the original box, it is fully documented by the included Colt Archive Letter, confirming its 1955 shipment. An outstanding addition to any advanced collection of Colt revolvers or custom firearms history.
