Atlas Collectible Firearms is proud to offer this exceptionally rare and historically significant Colt .45-22 Conversion Unit in .45 ACP. This unit was designed to allow owners of the Colt Service Model ACE .22 LR to be able to convert it to a .45 ACP Government Model 1911. Most Colt conversion units are chambered in .22 LR but this is one of the EXTREMELY RARE .45 ACP conversion units!!
This high-condition set includes the 5-inch .45 ACP barrel, the factory blued Colt Slide, the recoil spring and guide assembly, and one correct original magazine. The slide features the correct special roll marks, including the prominent "COLT AUTOMATIC CALIBRE .45 CONVERSION UNIT .45-22" and the Rampant Colt logo. It is equipped with a Stevens-style adjustable rear sight for target accuracy. Provenance is established by an included Colt Archive Letter, which confirms this unit was finished in Blue and shipped to the Stoeger Arms Corporation in New York on December 3, 1940.
This Colt Conversion Kit is in Excellent condition with the blued finish on the slide remaining deep and rich. The bore is in great shape with crisp rifling. This is a complete, investment-grade pre-war conversion unit that is almost impossible to find with its original factory authentication. This is one of the earliest & finest examples on the market today!!!!
