This pistol is unequivocally one of the most significant modern 1911s in existence, being the Serial Number #1 prototype built with exact facsimile Remington "UMC" Military roll markings. This pistol was formerly owned by the late American director, writer, and actor, Frank Joseph Galati, adding unique provenance to this already singular firearm.
This museum-quality 1911 features a 5-inch barrel and is meticulously finished in Turnbull's renowned Charcoal Blue, replicating the iconic finish of WWI-era pistols. It is stamped with period-correct Remington-UMC slide and frame markings. The pistol is 100% complete, including the original unmarked Turnbull black hard case, two original two-tone magazines, the original owner's manual, and extensive original invoice and order paperwork documenting its construction and its shipment to Frank J. Galati.
