This incredible museum-quality specimen is chambered in the extremely rare .22 Long Rifle, a caliber found in less than 10% of Model 1890 production. This rifle features an extraordinarily rare 24-inch Half-Octagon / Half-Round barrel, a configuration seldom seen on this platform. The metalwork is a triumph of early 20th-century artistry, featuring full-coverage floral scroll engraving accented by 24K Gold wire inlays and two magnificent solid gold game scenes: a squirrel on the left side and a rabbit on the right.

The craftsmanship continues into the spectacular Exhibition Grade "XXX" Hand-Carved Walnut furniture. The butt stock and pump fore-end are masterfully embellished with high-relief hand carvings of oak leaves and acorns, integrated with exhibition-level checkering. The engraving and woodcarving on this piece are nearly identical in style and quality to the works of legendary Master Engraver Nick Kusmit. Every surface of this rifle has been touched by a master, including the elaborately engraved crescent steel buttplate, the trigger guard, and even the top of the bolt.

This historic Winchester remains in exceptional collector condition, showcasing a deep, rich charcoal blued finish with only minor scattered old freckling consistent with its 119-year heritage.
