Chambered in the legendary .44-40 Winchester caliber with a 24.25-inch octagonal barrel, this specimen is one of only 35 ever produced in this configuration. Bearing the LOW serial number #3, this rifle represents an ultra-rare pinnacle of modern Winchester production and artisan craftsmanship. Of all the rifles made there were only 35 that were hand selected & inspected by the factory to be the BEST-OF-THE-BEST and this is one of them!!
The firearm features Ulrich-style factory master engraving on a high-polish blued receiver, accented by breathtaking gold-inlaid moose and elk game scenes. The frame, barrel flats, and forend tip are further embellished with gold-line borders and deep-relief scrollwork. It is stocked in hand-selected Grade 5/6 walnut with a gorgeous fiddleback flame, complemented by a case-colored hammer and lever of vibrant intensity.
