Atlas Collectible Firearms is proud to present this magnificent Factory Master Engraved 2001 Colt Custom Single Action Army (SAA) “Single Action Shooting Society” (SASS) special ordered revolver, chambered in the classic .45 Long Colt cartridge. This modern SAA has been transformed into a stunning presentation piece through custom engraving and inscription, making it a favorite among display collectors.
This iconic revolver is fitted with the desirable 5.5-inch barrel and a brilliant, highly polished factory Nickel finish. The entire pistol features deluxe expertly executed fine scroll Master Level Hand Engraving. The engraving closely resembles the work of other documented factory engraved SAA's we have seen from this period done by Colt's Master Engraver Jan Gwinnell.
It is fitted with elegant factory original faux smooth “Tru Ivory” stocks. The grip back strap is also customized with the name “Dr. John Bass” hand engraved in block lettering; most likely the original owners SASS handle. The set includes the original factory box, outer serialized sleeve, accompanying paperwork and factory Colt Archive letter.
The overall condition of this incredible Colt Custom SAA is pristine collector grade, remaining consumer unfired & new old stock. The brilliant nickel finish is superb across the entire surface. The action is mechanically tight, crisp, flawless & perfectly tuned. An outstanding and unique SAA, perfect for display and historical presentation.
