Atlas Collectible Firearms is profoundly honored to present this breathtaking Second Year production Colt Python, manufactured in 1956. Chambered in the powerful .357 Magnum, this legendary snake gun features a 6 inch vent rib “hollow-lug” barrel and represents the ultimate in American revolver craftsmanship. As a coveted second-year production piece, this Python is an essential cornerstone for the most advanced Colt researcher or investor with low Serial # 767.
The firearm is finished in a Royal Blue that serves as the canvas for masterful, full-coverage germanic style scroll engraving. The artistry is enhanced by magnificent 24k solid gold-inlaid wildlife vignettes, including a striking golden cougar on the frame. The left side is further personalized with gold-inlaid "DBM" initials. This metalwork is perfectly paired with exhibition-grade custom walnut target grips featuring intricate floral carving and a custom elephant ivory inlaid grip base. The engraving on this firearm very closely resembles the work of the world renowned german master engravers Josef Fugger, E.C. Prudhome, Kurt Jaeger and Emil & Claus Willig.
This phenomenal revolver comes as shown, showcasing the unparalleled level of detail found in every square inch of the engraving. The gun remains in spectacular condition, showing some handling and wear but overall excellent for a 2nd year Python! This Master Engraved 1956 Python represents a true holy grail investment opportunity, combining the rarity of an early production model with museum-grade custom embellishment.
