Atlas Collectible Firearms is proud to present this extraordinary 1st Generation 1906 Colt Single Action Army revolver, chambered in the classic .38-40 Winchester. This historic SAA features the popular 5 ½-inch barrel and is finished in a bright factory Nickel. The revolver has been Masterfully Hand Engraved in the intricate, deep Germanic scroll style highly associated with renowned Colt Master Engraver Rudolph J. Kornbrath.
From our extensive research and expert opinion, we believe this SAA was hand engraved by Rudolph Kornbrath sometime before WWII. Key iconic features of Kornbrath's work are present, including the extensive deep Germanic scroll work, especially the scrollwork done on the top strap of the frame/barrel. The engraving also includes a checkered backstrap, engraved hammer, and engraved screws; ALL key features of Mr. Kornbrath's work. It is fitted with early Elephant Ivory Stocks with the name "LEE" hand carved perfectly into each grip panel. This historic Colt firearm comes housed in a custom display case.
The overall condition of this SAA is Pristine. The bore and chambers are perfect, and the action and mechanics work great. The single-action mechanism indexes and locks up smoothly with the classic four clicks, making this a premier, custom-embellished piece of American Old West history.
