This is an exceptionally rare, short-barreled configuration from the 2nd Generation era, with documented production of only 25 examples ever made. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the advanced collector.
This revolver features the iconic 3-inch barrel and retains its extremely rare factory Nickel finish. The accompanying Colt Archive Letter confirms its shipment in November 1960 as part of a special order (Colt Factory Order #10175) to Centennial Arms Corp. This specific revolver is documented by renowned experts as being the fourth example produced in the 25-gun run.
It is fitted with factory original smooth walnut stocks. The presentation is completed by its original factory "Sheriff's Model" blonde wood display case, featuring a yellow Golden Rod fitted interior and the original key.
The condition is pristine collector condition, showing no signs of handling or use since manufacture. The mirror Nickel finish is immaculate showing only minor signs of age, and the mechanics are tight, smooth, and perfect with all four clicks. A complete, documented, and pristine example of one of the rarest post-war Colt Single Action Army variants. An outstanding addition to any museum-quality collection.
