Atlas Collectible Firearms is profoundly honored to present an absolute holy grail of single action collecting: a factory nickel 1962 Colt 2nd Generation Single Action Army chambered in the desirable .44 Special. This specimen is one of only 124 ever produced in this specific configuration with Nickel finish, 5.5" barrel & .44 Special caliber with nearly all being factory equipped with black checkered rubber stocks; this example features the EXTREMELY RARE factory Wood grips. There were only a handful of the 124 made that were factory equipped with wood grips making this revolver a true Holy Grail 2nd Gen.
This investment-grade Peacemaker wears its original factory bright nickel finish, which remains in extremely fine condition with only minor evidence of handling. The 5.5-inch barrel and frame exhibit the mirror-like luster only found on early 2nd Generation Hartford production. This revolver remains factory unfired showing only minor signs of handling, standing as a remarkable survivor and a true time capsule of Colt’s mid-century craftsmanship.
Accompanying this extremely rare piece is its original factory box with a correctly numbered bottom (end label is missing), Colt archive letter, and the original rarely seen Single Action Army "Instructions" sheet. Also included are the factory warranty card and "Handling the Handgun" pamphlet.
