Atlas Collectible Firearms is deeply honored to present the absolute "Holy Grail" for the advanced Colt or Western enthusiast: a Factory Master Engraved 1982 Colt Single Action Army "John Wayne Deluxe" chambered in .45 LC. This legendary revolver features a breathtaking Sterling Silver Plated finish adorned with masterful factory-executed scrollwork. The presentation is elevated to the highest level with real 24k Gold sculpted inlays, including a portrait of "The Duke" against an American flag on the cylinder, a gold-sculpted eagle banner on the barrel, and a gold-sculpted holster motif on the recoil shield.

This particular variant is exceptionally scarce; while 500 were originally advertised, it is widely believed that only between 47 - 90 units were actually sold, making this one of the rarest factory commemoratives ever produced by the Colt Custom Shop. It is also widely believed these were hand engraved by Colt factory master engraver Alvin A. White or by his protégé Andrew Bourbon but these pieces were never signed so we have no way to discern either way if he did the work or not.

The revolver is fitted with Factory Ebony Wood grips featuring a beautiful scrimshawed elephant ivory inlay signed "TD" by the renowned artist Trudy DonAngelo. This museum-quality package comes in the Oak suede-lined John Wayne presentation case with the internal plaque and key, alongside the original factory woodgrain outer box, white styrofoam insert, and yellow Colt Custom Shop end label.

The overall condition of this investment-grade masterpiece is Very Fine Collector Grade, remaining consumer unfired with no signs of handling or use. The silver and gold finishes are remarkably vibrant, with the only notable mention being a very tiny, isolated spot on the underside of the barrel where the silver plating has started to peel slightly, though it remains extremely minor. The mechanics are factory-crisp, and the bore is pristine. This represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to acquire what is arguably the most desirable and rarest John Wayne tribute firearm ever sanctioned by the Colt factory.
