Atlas Collectible Firearms is proud to present this HOLY GRAIL of Colt Pythons: a 1980 manufactured 8-inch revolver chambered in .357 Magnum with rare factory custom shop features and engraving. This is a highly unusual and collectible piece based on its factory documentation and configuration.

The revolver features an 8-inch barrel and the classic Royal Blue finish. Its significance is confirmed by the Custom Shop end label which specifies "Python Revolver with Type 'B' Engraving, Factory Tuned." There were only a handful of 8" Royal Blue Colt Pythons ever engraved by the Colt Custom Shop but this particular example is the ONLY ONE we have ever seen in all of our years of research featuring this grade of expert level master hand engraving (resembles Colt Factory Engraver Mr. Alvin A. White's “Nimschke” style engraving)

This package is a fascinating collector anomaly: the 1980 serial number (AL1807) predates the mid-1980s maroon Colt box and neon yellow Custom Shop (CCS) end label it is housed in. We believe this Python was either held back as a special factory sample or sent back to the Colt Custom Shop in the mid-1980s for its factory tuned action and engraving, then shipped back in the correct maroon box and CCS label from that period.

It remains in pristine collector condition, showing minimal signs of factory test use. It is complete with its original maroon Colt cardboard box, white Styrofoam insert, hang tag, and all original paperwork. An outstanding addition to any advanced Colt snake gun collection.
