Manufactured during the crucial period of World War I, this is a desirable Commercial Model built on the original 1911 pattern and retaining an exceptional amount of its original factory Blued finish.
This classic automatic pistol features its factory correct 5-inch barrel. It retains an estimated 98% or more of its original high-polish blued finish, making it a high-condition example for its age. The pistol features correct early WWI-era parts and is factory fit with the finest set of original checkered wood grips we've seen on this era model. Provenance is documented by the included Colt Historical Letter, verifying its original configuration.
The overall condition is Excellent/Near Mint with the gun being in superb condition with light handling marks, showing a beautiful, rich patina and color. The bore is pristine & bright with strong rifling. The mechanics are excellent. An outstanding, investment-grade, high-condition Commercial Model 1911.
