Atlas Collectible Firearms is profoundly honored to present an absolute "Holy Grail" of modern combat shotgun collecting: an iconic 1983 Italian Franchi SPAS-12 dual-mode 12-gauge shotgun. This legendary combat firearm features a 21.5-inch barrel with a threaded muzzle and is capable of instantaneous switching between pump-action and semi-automatic operating modes. Bearing the desirable Italian AL date code for 1983 production, this early import was brought into the United States by F.I.E. Corp of Miami, Florida. The SPAS-12 is immortalized across pop culture as the ultimate 1980s and 90s action movie weapon, famously highlighted in cinematic blockbusters like Jurassic Park, The Terminator, and The Matrix. Solidifying its collector appeal, this example is equipped with its original, ultra-rare metal folding stock complete with the functional arm hook ("tail hook") assembly and retains its original lever/swing safety mechanism.
Stamped sharply on the left side of the receiver is the desirable "AA" prefix serial number AA03333, sitting alongside the factory Italian markings reading "S.P.A.S. 12 - L. FRANCHI S.P.A. - BRESCIA MADE IN ITALY". The right side of the receiver clearly displays the crisp F.I.E. import stampings. This Italian combat shotgun features an integrated heat shield over the barrel, a heavy-duty polymer pump forend, a ribbed pistol grip, and a fold-over top metal stock that locks securely into place when collapsed. Because imports of the SPAS-12 were permanently banned in the late 1980s, finding an early F.I.E. survivor preserving all of its original factory features is becoming increasingly difficult for military and movie gun enthusiasts.
The overall condition of this rare SPAS-12 is excellent, displaying only minor, scattered cosmetic handling marks across the matte Parkerized receiver and barrel shroud. The factory heat shield, polymer forend, and ribbed pistol grip remain in very fine shape, showing clean, crisp textures entirely free of cracks or damage. The metal folding tail hook stock operates smoothly, pivoting cleanly with tight lockup in both the extended and stowed positions. Mechanically, the action cycles cleanly in both pump and semi-auto dual modes with crisp trigger functionality, while the 21.5-inch barrel preserves a clean, mirror-bright bore.
