Atlas Collectible Firearms is deeply honored to present a Holy Grail piece of World War II German military arms history: an authentic 1944-manufactured Walther "ac/44" code K43 semi-automatic sniper rifle chambered in the powerful 7.92x57mm Mauser (8mm Mauser) cartridge. Produced during the height of late-war German small arms manufacturing, this rare battle rifle features the correct milled panel on the left side of the receiver bearing the model and factory codes, a rough-cast bolt carrier with a hollow charging knob, and the integral factory dovetail scope rail machined onto the right side of the receiver. Carrying serial number 9484P, the stock heel displays a faint but visible eagle over 359 Waffenamt acceptance mark, preserving its genuine Third Reich military manufacturing heritage.
Mounted to the integral receiver rail is an unmarked post-war phosphate-finished scope mount supporting an authentic "bzz" code Gw ZF4 4x optical sight, marked "3413" above a blue-filled triangle code. Fitted with a laminated wood stock assembly, a brown leather sling, a detachable 10-round magazine, and a set of protective rubber sun shields for the optic, this iconic sniper configuration represents one of the most historically significant and sought-after infantry weapons of the Second World War.
Preserved in very fine overall condition, the rifle retains much of its original military blued and phosphate metal finish with light, natural age wear and subtle surface spotting. The laminated stock has been refinished during its service life and presents in fine condition, displaying a warm tone with a faint Waffenamt proof remaining legible on the buttstock. Mechanically, the action functions as designed with a smooth bolt cycle and positive safety lever operation, though the trigger guard exhibits a slight bend and the magazine spring requires minor adjustment for optimal feeding. The ZF4 optics exhibit a slightly hazy sight picture but retain a strong, clear reticle crosshair, while the 22-inch barrel features a bright, clean bore showing distinct, strong rifling lines alongside minor scattered spotting.
