Atlas Collectible Firearms is proud to present this HOLY GRAIL / ONLY KNOWN EXAMPLE—a 1986 Colt Python revolver chambered in .357 Magnum with Factory Master Level Engraving. This revolver represents a unique piece of Colt history: while the Colt Archive Letter confirms Class "C" Standard Scroll Engraving, the pattern on this Python is unique, making it the only known example with this engraving pattern shipped in 1986.
This magnificent Python features the 6-inch vent-rib barrel and a deep Royal Blue finish. The factory engraving is masterfully executed (resembling Alvin White's work), showing high-coverage scroll and punchdot engraving. It is fitted with pre-ban, center-cut Elephant Ivory Target Grips which are 100% Colt Custom Shop and marked inside with the last three digits of the serial number, “972”.
The condition is 100% New Old Stock (NOS) and completely pristine. Although manufactured in 1979, the pistol was held by the factory until its custom shipment in 1986. The grips show natural aging grains, which are not cracks! The action is flawlessly smooth. A true one-of-a-kind Custom Shop masterpiece with documented factory engraving and provenance. An outstanding addition to any advanced Colt collection.
