Atlas Collectible Firearms is profoundly honored to present this historical 1962 Remington Model 700 Safari Grade, a first-year production masterpiece from the Remington Custom Shop. This elite rifle is chambered in the legendary .375 H&H Magnum and features a 26 inch barrel equipped with a factory muzzle brake. As a premier big-game platform from the inaugural year of the Model 700, this rifle represents a beautiful investment for the serious collector.
The metal surfaces retain a very good to near excellent high-polish blue finish, showing light scratches and a natural plum hue to the bolt handle. The rifle is outfitted with a magnificent checkered walnut stock featuring black ebony accents at the forearm tip. It retains its original jeweled bolt, a non-reflective matte finish on top of the receiver, and integrated factory sporting sights for a classic safari profile.
This rare Custom Shop offering includes a provenance letter from Remington Historian J.D. Heath and a copy of the 1962 price sheet. The firearm is in high condition, displaying very good lightly worn rifling and scattered light dings on the wood consistent with its age. Complete with a brown leather sling on QD swivels, this lettered first-year Safari Grade stands as an exceptionally scarce and desirable piece of Remington firearms history.
