Atlas Collectible Firearms is profoundly honored to present a rare, grail-tier piece of modern lever-action rifle history: an original 1989-manufactured Browning Model 65 High Grade lever-action rifle chambered in the desirable .218 Bee caliber. Limited to a total production run of only 1,500 High Grade examples produced in Japan, this magnificent rifle features a 24-inch blued round barrel, a full-length tubular magazine, an open buckhorn sight assembly, and a satin coin-finished receiver adorned with master-level factory hand engraving. Master Engraver T. Naka meticulously executed the elaborate scrollwork, incorporating fine gold-inlaid game scenes featuring a coyote on the left side of the receiver and a bobcat on the right. Signed "T. NAKA" along the lower left receiver frame, this rare varmint rifle represents a centerpiece acquisition for advanced Browning and lever-action collectors.
The rifle comes fitted with a high-gloss select walnut pistol-grip stock and forearm displaying sharp, hand-cut checkering, a blued steel forend cap, a gold-plated trigger, and a steel buttplate. Preserved in 100% New Old Stock (NOS) presentation, the complete collector setup includes its original factory cardboard shipping box with a matching end label identifying Model 65 High Grade, .218 Bee caliber, 24-inch barrel length, and serial number 00848PN667. The offering is complete with the original Browning Model 65 owner's manual and factory promotional knife literature.
The cosmetic condition of this 1989 High Grade Model 65 remains in pristine, 100% New Old Stock consumer-unfired condition throughout, exhibiting full original factory deep bluing and satin coin receiver finish without handling marks, scuffs, or operational wear. The high-gloss select walnut furniture is flawlessly preserved with rich wood grain and razor-sharp checkering. Mechanically, the hand-fitted lever action operates with glass-smooth precision, offering a tight breech lockup and a crisp trigger break, while the 24-inch round barrel preserves a mirror-bright, pristine bore with sharp, razor-clean rifling throughout.
