Atlas Collectible Firearms is deeply honored to present a jaw-dropping masterpiece of custom single-action artistry: a master engraved 1979 production Ruger Blackhawk chambered in the powerful .45 Colt. This extraordinary revolver features a highly desirable 4.5-inch barrel and represents a true pinnacle of custom high-art firearm design. The entire piece has been meticulously treated to an ultra-premium, elegant French Gray finish that acts as the perfect canvas for extensive, deep-cut foliate scrollwork. While the gun is technically unsigned, the breathtaking scroll layout, perfect cuts, and intricate geometric patterns strongly attribute this masterpiece to the legendary Master Engraver Richard Boucher. We had a matching Colt 1911 Government Model pistol that came from the same place that was engraved, had 24k gold inlay and finished in the exact same way as this gun and it was signed by Richard Boucher. We can supply photos of the Colt 1911 and his signature on that gun to show that this gun was certainly done by Mr. Boucher.
The custom execution is elevated to a world-class tier with an incredible amount of 24K gold wire inlays. These rich accents perfectly border the receiver panels, trace the cylinder flutes, line the top strap, and follow the barrel contour to emphasize the clean lines of the Ruger architecture. The gold inlay work also gracefully wraps around the backstrap and bottom metal trigger guard, framing more high-density scroll segments. Adorning the grip frame is a magnificent pair of genuine, early aged elephant ivory stocks that exhibit a beautiful, rich natural character and a subtle creamy texture that complements the French Gray metal (there is a professionally repaired crack in the right grip panel - it is solid). All original factory stampings remain perfectly clean, including the serial number 46-43415 chiseled on the frame forward of the cylinder.
This one-of-a-kind Ruger Blackhawk remains in exceptional collector condition, exhibiting flawless, brushed metal surfaces with limited to no signs of past consumer handling. Mechanically, the firearm is absolutely excellent, cycling with crisp precision, and the 4.5-inch barrel preserves a pristine, perfect bore. The genuine ivory stocks are in flawless shape, free of any chips or scuffs, showing only very fine natural stress aging checks on the bottom faces. This breathtaking custom work of art arrives beautifully showcased inside a deluxe oak presentation display case featuring a red velvet-lined interior and a protective glass viewing window.
