Atlas Collectible Firearms is deeply honored to present a breathtaking masterpiece of custom long-gun artistry: an Eric Boessler Master Engraved and Relief Gold Inlaid Weatherby Mark V bolt-action rifle chambered in the powerful .300 Weatherby Magnum. Manufactured between 1974 and 1981, this highly collectible specimen was subsequently embellished by renowned German Master Engraver Eric Boessler. The rifle features a blued steel barrel built without sights, displaying an import mark on the underside and standard factory markings near the breech encircled by three wedges of attractive scroll engraving. This elaborate scrollwork seamlessly flows onto the blued action around the factory serial number H93859, and continues beautifully across the Buehler scope mounts and rings which hold a clear Burris 3-9x optics system.
The true centerpiece of this investment-grade firearm is the magnificent blued floorplate, showcasing dense, expertly cut scrollwork enclosed by gold inlaid borders. At the center rests a phenomenal, relief gold inlaid bugling bull elk, flanked by a gold inlaid "CC" monogram at the rear. Boessler proudly signed his work directly beneath the gold wildlife scene, marked "E. BOESSLER 81". The rifle is stocked in a richly figured, super fine borderless wrap-checkered walnut stock equipped with a blued steel grip cap, sculpted thumb flute, shadowline pancake cheekpiece, and a premium Pachmayr Old English recoil pad.
The condition of this custom masterwork is exceptionally fine overall, retaining 99% of its original blue and gold finishes with only the most nominal handling evidence. The wood remains in pristine status, showing only a few tiny spots on the right side of the buttstock, with the custom checkering remaining laser-sharp. Mechanically, the legendary Mark V action functions with absolute excellence, and the Burris scope optics are bright and clear.
