This "Peacemaker" is chambered in the legendary .45 Colt, features a 4.75-inch barrel, and serves as an official Colt Engraving Sampler Prototype. This specimen was utilized by Colt’s Manufacturing Co. as an official display model at various trade shows and exhibitions. The visual profile of this SAA is extraordinary, featuring a brilliant factory nickel finish that serves as the canvas for master engraving by the renowned George Spring. As an engraving sampler, the revolver displays a variety of elite styles: Type "B" scroll in "Henshaw" on the backstrap and trigger guard, "Nimschke" on the cylinder, "Helfricht" on the frame, and "Contemporary" scroll on the barrel and ejector rod housing. Adorning the grip frame is a set of premium smooth real Ivory stocks featuring brass Colt Custom Shop 150th Anniversary medallions. The left grip is masterfully scrimshawed with the names and dates of the historic engravers represented in the sampler. Additionally, "Colt Engraving Sampler" is elegantly linecut engraved down the backstrap. The condition of this Colt is New Old Stock (NOS), presenting in immaculate, museum-grade condition with no signs of handling or use. The mechanical action is factory-crisp, and the bore is in perfect, unfired condition. This investment-grade package is remarkably complete, featuring a custom-fitted walnut display case with a glass top and a rich Tyrol red velvet-lined interior.
