Atlas Collectible Firearms is proud to present this extraordinary 1978 Colt Single Action Army (SAA) revolver, chambered in .45 LC, which is a true Custom Shop work of art. This highly documented piece features a host of factory custom features, including the rare long barrel and verified factory hand engraving, making it an irreplaceable, one-of-a-kind collector's item.

This SAA features the classic 7 1/2-inch barrel with a stunning deluxe high polished Royal Blue finish, contrasted by vivid Case Color Hardening (CCH) on the frame. The revolver is confirmed as Factory Engraved (Class "C") by the included Colt Archive Letter and is stamped "COLT ENG" on the frame. It is fitted with exceptional Factory Elephant Ivory grips, hand-made by Dan Chesiak ("D.C.") and masterfully hand-carved with a Mexican Eagle motif by the world-renowned K. Dennis Holland ("KDH"), who both did factory custom work for Colt at the time. It is presented in its original Colt Custom Shop leatherette display case and includes the Colt Archive Letter.

We have studied 100's & 100's of factory engraved Colt's and we are very certain this piece was hand engraved by Colt's Master Engraver Steve Kaymak but we do not have any documentation stating he did the work.

The condition is 100% New Old Stock (NOS), completely unfired, with not a mark anywhere. The metal finishes are flawless, and the mechanics are tight. The combination of verified factory engraving, the rare long barrel, and documented custom ivory grips makes this one of the most significant 3rd Generation SAA revolvers known to exist. A rare opportunity to acquire a true masterpiece.
