Atlas Collectible Firearms is proud to present the Holy Grail of Colt Single Action Army collecting: a 2nd Generation SAA, chambered in .45 Long Colt, masterfully factory engraved by Bill Mains and formerly owned by Colt Custom Shop Superintendent, Al DeJohn. Factory engraved 2nd Gens are the rarest of all Colt SAAs, with fewer than 350 ever produced. This specific piece, with its direct provenance to Colt history, is simply irreplaceable.
This exceptional revolver features the classic 5 ½-inch barrel, a factory royal blued finish on the barrel/cylinder, and a case color hardened (CCH) frame. The original Colt Archive Letter documents that Mr. DeJohn, a 43-year Colt employee, had this revolver engraved with 2/3 scroll coverage by Bill Mains. The pistol is presented in its Factory Original Orange Colt Custom Shop Leatherette Display Case and retains original hard rubber grips.
The condition is pristine NOS (New Old Stock) and Unfired. It exhibits no signs of use, retaining perfect factory finish with only the faintest cylinder turn line, tight mechanics, and the famous four-click action. Complete with the original Colt Archive Letter documenting its historical significance and ownership by Colt's Custom Shop head.
