Manufactured in 1895 and chambered in the quintessential .38 W.C.F. (.38-40 Winchester Center Fire), this rifle features a 20-inch octagon barrel. This specimen features exquisite master-level hand engraving on both sides of the receiver, showcasing deep foliate scrollwork. The barrel and full-length magazine tube retain 99% of a rich, reapplied blue. Most striking is the vibrant, bold color case hardening on the receiver, lever, hammer and “short-rifle” crescent butt-plate, which mirrors the world-renowned quality of Doug Turnbull’s craftsmanship. The straight-grip walnut furniture is beautifully figured and exhibits a flawless, smooth finish.
