Dating to 1903, this investment-grade revolver features a 7.5-inch barrel and has been treated to nearly full-coverage, master-level hand engraving by former Colt factory engraver Walter T. Shannon of Shannon's Custom Gun Engraving. Shannon, celebrated as one of the last true traditionalists executing his craft completely by hand with a hammer and chisel, adorned the metal with stunning scrollwork set against a crisp punch-dot background. His trademark intertwined "S" pattern is expertly hidden on the bottom of the trigger guard as his master signature.
This museum-quality piece is fitted with an incredible set of antique elephant ivory grips, featuring an exquisitely detailed, hand-carved Mexican Eagle clutching a snake in its beak on the right panel. The revolver retains virtually all of its custom-applied nickel finish executed at the time of embellishment, ensuring a brilliant, mirror-like presentation. All factory legends, patent dates, and stamps remain laser-sharp and distinct, and every single serial number is entirely matching across the frame, backstrap, and trigger guard, including the original number 243455.
