Atlas Collectible Firearms is proud to present this extremely rare 1984 Colt Third Generation Sheriff's Model Single Action Army revolver chambered in .45 Long Colt. This is a highly sought-after configuration due to the exceptionally rare caliber; most Sheriff's Models were made in .44-40 Winchester or .44 S&W Special. The revolver features a 3-inch barrel and the factory deluxe royal blue and case hardened finishes. It is fitted with smooth factory ivory grips featuring gold rampant Colt medallions. Another aspect that makes this Colt Sheriff's Model so scarce is the frame on this example is of the “BP-Style” black powder style screw-in frame.
This Colt Custom Gun Shop revolver was part of a shipment of two revolvers sent to Davidson Supply Company in Greensboro, North Carolina, on December 18, 1984, which is confirmed by the included factory letter. The letter further notes that this revolver was originally shipped from the factory as one of a consecutively serialized pair. The Colt "woodgrain" box includes a matching numbered Colt Custom Gun Shop end label listing it as number 7 of only 46 revolvers of this type made.
The overall condition remains in New Old Stock (NOS) unfired condition. The deluxe blue and case hardened finishes are pristine and brilliant, showing no signs of consumer handling or use. The mechanics are tight, smooth, and flawless, making this an incredible investment-grade collector piece.
