Historically significant as the premier release marking the first stainless steel firearm ever produced by Colt, this special edition was strictly limited to a total production run of only 250 units worldwide. Manufactured in 1982 by the prestigious Colt Custom Shop, this incredible revolver features serial number T02000 stamped cleanly on the frame hinge, denoting its inclusion in this legendary limited run.
The revolver boasts extensive Colt Custom Shop factory scroll engraving along the full length of the 6-inch full-shroud barrel, decorated with a stylized cobra serpent on the frame's sideplate and explicit "Limited Edition SILVER SNAKE .357 MAGNUM" rollmarks alongside Samuel Colt signatures flanked by 1836-1982 dates. Complete and impeccably preserved, the package features the original Colt faux-woodgrain box, the matching original blue canvas and vinyl Colt "Bob Allen" soft zipper carrying case, the original Colt Python instruction manual, the Colt Companion booklet, the authorized repair service station sheet, the president's welcome letter signed by Gary W. French, the NRA insert, and the red safety hangtag.
Remaining in pristine as-new-in-box condition at 99%+ with no consumer firing history, the factory brushed stainless steel finish retains full original luster without operational wear or dragging. Mechanically, the action is tight and crisp with precision timing and smooth lockup, while the 6-inch barrel retains a mirror-bright bore with razor-sharp rifling lines throughout.
