Atlas Collectible Firearms is proud to present this ONLY KNOWN CASED PAIR of Henry Deringer 2nd Type Percussion Pistols. Manufactured circa 1830-1831, this historically significant matched set represents the earliest known period of Henry Deringer's iconic pistols. Its rarity is confirmed by specialist and collector L. Doug Eberhart, author of a definitive Deringer reference.

These pistols feature petite blade front sights, engraved geometric bands, and finely checkered walnut bag grips with coin silver escutcheons. The barrels are marked with the early "DERINGER / PHILA" mark. The set is housed in a handsome, partitioned hardwood case (refurbished/relined) and includes all original accessories: an engraved powder flask, bullet mold, cap tin, and various tools. Provenance is documented via an included letter from L.D. Eberhart. Mr. Eberhart is the foremost expert on these early Henry Derringers with published books on the firearms.

The overall condition is very good, consistent with antique arms approaching 200 years of age. Pistol (A) retains traces of original browning and shows defined rifling. Pistol (B) has a bright, lightly cleaned barrel and retains portions of original blue on the ferrule. Both guns exhibit original wood with impressions and retain Fine Mechanics with tight actions. This is an irreplaceable, museum-quality set. An outstanding acquisition for any advanced collector of American antique and frontier firearms.
